Vibrio cholerae O1 Latex Test
The Vibrio cholerae O1 Latex Text contains three separate slide latex reagents for the typing/detection of V. cholerae O1: reagent A is a suspension of latex particles coated with a monoclonal antibody to a cell wall antigen of V. cholerae serogroups O1 strains, and reagents B and C are used for sub-typing. Reagent A has a sensitivity of 100% for culture confirmation and approximately 65% for directly screening stools for rapid bedside results. All reagents are conveniently sold separately.
Vibrio cholerae O1 Antisera
For the serotyping of clinical isolates, the set consists of a polyvalent O1 and mono-specific Inaba and Ogawa antisera (2ml x 3). Positive specimens which react only with either the Inaba or Ogawa monovalents are serotyped respectively as such; strains which react with both monovalents are identified as the Hikojima serovar. *O139 "Bengal" antisera is sold separately.
Note: VET-RPLA (see under Eschericia coli) can also detect the cholera toxin.
Vibrio parahaemolyticus Antisera
Set consists of 9 polyvalent and 65 monovalent K-typing antisera sera (2ml x 74); 11 O-grouping antisera are sold in a separate set (2ml x 11). Serotyping and serogrouping are carried out by slide and test tube agglutination.
Vibrio parahaemolyticus Hemolysin
KAP-RPLA "SEIKEN" has a sensitivity of 1-2 ng/ml, superior to the so-called "Kanagawa phenomenon" as seen on the Wagatsuma, medium. The kit is recommended for clinical, public health, research and food testing labs, especially those working with seafood, selfish, etc.
